Farewell to Summer

In many respects, this was the greatest summer ever, because it gave us increased freedom and at least a partial return to normalcy from an unseen enemy.

As Labor Day descends there is an unspoken urgency to savor every outside moment, before the days get shorter and the joys of summer become just fleeting memories. Boston Globe photojournalist Stan Grossfeld captured some of these images that makes our neck of the woods so very special.
