Alex Verdugo left Friday night’s game in the top of the fourth against the Yankees with left hamstring tightness. The Red Sox said it was for precautionary reasons.

After reaching first on an infield single, Rafael Devers grounded into a fielder’s choice. Verdugo slid into second but came up hobbling.

Tzu-Wei Lin replaced Verdugo in the bottom of the fourth in right field.
