Two great white sharks tagged by researchers — “Commodore” and “Danny” — were reported swimming off Cape Cod beaches in Provincetown, Wellfleet, and Chatham on Tuesday. Two other great white sightings, including a 12-foot specimen, were also reported.

Commodore swam past a tracking buoy off Chatham around 6:28 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Sharktivity app maintained by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

Danny triggered tracking reports at 2:07 a.m. off Provincetown and at 4:51 a.m. off Wellfleet, according to the app.

Shortly before 10 a.m., a third sighting was reported on the app about a half-mile off North Beach Island. The app did not say whether this was another sighting of Commodore or Danny.

A fourth sighting was reported around 10:44 a.m. about three-quarters of mile off the shores of Chatham, according to the app.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information becomes available.
