He’s got the president’s ear.

An Attleboro third-grader last week received a letter from President Trump, ending a monthslong wait for a reply to a note he sent to the White House as part of a classroom lesson, the boy’s father said Wednesday.

Adam Turner Sr., father of 8-year-old Adam Turner Jr., said Trump’s letter to his son arrived Friday at Studley Elementary School, where the younger Turner is enrolled.

The president’s note, Adam Sr. said, encouraged Adam Jr. to “stay strong, stay true to school and build a better future.”

Asked what his son initially wrote to Trump, Adam Sr. said the boy was inspired to contact the commander-in-chief after learning they shared the same birthday in June.

Adam Sr. said his son had written “something about changing the world, so I’m going to have to go with that.”

Adam Jr.’s teacher, Bertie Larouche, told The Sun Chronicle that she had her students write letters last November to teach them about zip codes and addressing mail. She told the newspaper that most of Adam Jr.’s classmates wrote to relatives and heard back promptly.

Adam Jr.’s presidential pen pal, though, has a lot on his daily itinerary, so it took a little longer for Trump (or his staff) to respond.

But the boy was “extremely excited” Friday, Adam Sr. said. “He’s waited a very long time for that letter.”

Will it quell a longstanding impasse between Adam Jr., a Trump supporter, and his 13-year-old brother, a Trump critic?

That remains to be seen. Adam Sr. said his sons often argue about politics, while his view is “to each their own.”

Trump, for his part, remained active on Twitter Wednesday morning, weighing in on comments from TV commentator Joe Scarborough, who said on the air that Trump looks 20 years younger than many Democratic presidential candidates.

“Thank you Joe and remember, the BRAIN is much sharper also!” Trump tweeted.
